Money to the Tenth Power

To bring all that has been discussed on Terumah, Divine Order of Giving, and Paying yourself in full circle.

My experience:
1. Church (Cornerstone Assembly of God, Anderson, SC)
Under Pastor Ed's teaching he teaches us to give the Terumah which is to honor God and the Pastor, then First Tithe and Second Tithe (which is paying yourself), then pay your bills, then alms, and free will offerings.

2. Rich Dad Poor Dad (Robert Kiyosaki)
Robert teaches that you need to give to charity (for me church), pay yourself first, then the bills.

3. Rich Woman (Kim Kiyosaki)
Kim teaches that you should give 10% for charity (for me church), 10% for yourself, and 10% for investments then pay the bills.

4. Dave Ramsey
Dave teaches that you should give, pay yourself, then pay your bills.

5. Creflo Dollar Ministries
Dr. Dollar teaches that you should give your tithe in an honor to God, pay yourself, then pay your bills.

What I have learned from all these people is to honor God first, then pay myself next, then pay my bills.

I was so covered in debt that the creditors had me scared. They would call my job, family and friends and try to scare me. The turning point came when I was tired of living paycheck to paycheck. This way of living really sucked because I didn't have anything for myself. I was having to go to payday loan places just to take care of some of my bills. I was even renewing loans to push my payment back. This was really bothering me. I was wanting to be free. I was feeling like Lord I want to give my tithes and get things I need and want. Then one week I stepped out on faith and I didn't pay the creditors I paid my tithes and I paid myself to get food and personal items I needed. There was many times I wouldn't eat because I knew I owed the creditors. Then the next week came and I did it again. I was being freed from those creditors. The creditors called but this time they didn't scare me, I became bolder and courageous. I know I have rights. I would wait to hear the Holy Ghost tell me what to do with each of my creditors. Which now I don't shy away from talking to them on the phone or even stopping by their office. A major lesson I learned was from Robert Kiyosaki was that he said yes creditors are bullies but you still need to give to charity and pay yourself first. He said when you do those steps you will come up with ideas (which I call wisdom) of ways to pay those creditors. This way you are forced to come up with creative ideas and ways through this pressure to pay them.

Divine Order of Giving Revisited

Here is an update to the Divine Order of Giving

We will use $100.00
First, give your First Fruit (Terumah) which is 2.5% of gross, which would be $2.50 leaving a balance of $97.50. Second, give your First Tithe which is 10% from the net of $97.50, which would be $9.75 leaving a balance of $87.75. Third, give your Second Tithe which is 10% from the net of $87.75, which would be $8.78 leaving a balance of $78.97. Four, give your Free Will Offering which is any amount. Then finally number five, give your Alms which is also any amount.

4/16/2017 I want to make adjustments and give a better example and I will deduct all from Gross because I honor God I want to honor Him with the best which would be from my gross not after the taxes taken out net. I apologize if I caused any confusion but I pray you just make these minor adjustments.  Please note it is based on your heart if you want to give out of gross or net.
We will use $100 minus $5 tax = $95
First, give your First Fruit (Terumah) which is 2.5% of gross, which would be $2.50 leaving a balance of $97.50. Second, give your First Tithe which is 10% from the Gross of $100 which would be $10 leaving a balance of $87.50. Third, give your Second Tithe which is 10% from the gross of $100, which would be $10 leaving a balance of $77.50. [$100 -2.50-10-10=$77.50]  Four, give your Free Will Offering which is an amount you decide on. Then finally number five, give your Alms which is also an amount decide on.

  1. Terumah [2.5%] to honor the Priest (Senior Pastors)
  2. 1st Tithe [10%] to maintain the work of your church, support the Levites (Associates Pastors)
  3. 2nd Tithe [10%] goes to you and your family for your enjoyment
  4. Offerings what you purpose in your heart to give
  5. Alms Offerings blessing the Poor (Other Christians in need such as Strangers who are displaced in another area, Orphans, Widows)

If you have any questions about Divine Order of Giving please contact Cornerstone Assembly of God at 864-224-3861. This break down was presented to us today at church by Pastor David Dentino.
4/16/2017 Cornerstone Assembly of God is no longer a church Ed Nelson of that church has been promoted over all the South Carolina Assemblies of God.  He continues to serve in this position while overseeing the work of Bellwether International. He is a General Presbyter of the General Council of the Assemblies of God, USA. (excerpt from

Dy's notes:
Being in the financial field for over 20+ years and being in the company of biblical based financial advisors yes they would agree with giving the Terumah and your first tithes. They would also agree with giving your second tithes but in the financial world we would call it "Paying Yourself." Then after that we would recommend our clients to pay their bills. The Word states "Keep out of debt and owe no man anything, except to love one another" Romans 13:8 AMP. Then what is left over after the deductions for the necessities of life then you give your offerings be it free will and/or alms.

I learned about the Divine Order of Giving at church yesterday taught by James Stewart. I have been a tither and it was just something I grew up learning to do but when I got older and began a relationship with God I knew the importance of tithing for myself.

James Stewart discussed in order to follow the Divine Order of Giving we must give our first fruits then our tithes. I have learned about the first fruits principle from the bible basically as a one time gift but through James teaching I learned that this is about honor and a practice you do continously which is called Terumah. Mr. Stewart let the congregation know that this principle was given in depth to him by my pastor Ed Nelson.

According to Proverbs 3:9 KJV "Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase." Mr. Stewart said that in Hebrew first fruits is referred to as Terumah and this is where you honor God with $2.50 per $100 or (I would say $.025 per your gross pay). When you give from your heart to want to honor God you do this with your first fruits and give it to the pastor of your church. (Some of you may not have a church you attend but you do believe this principle seek the Holy Ghost to lead you in what you should do.)

Then according to Proverbs 3:10 KJV "So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine,"

Basically the principal is WE do Proverbs 3:9 and GOD will do Proverbs 3:10.

The Key Mr. Stewart says is to present your Terumah to your pastor and say I want to honor God and would you present this to God then it will go to the pastor. The pastor would basically take the offering you gave him and lift it up to God letting God know this is to honor Him and then the pastor will receive that offering as a gift. By honoring God you are also honoring the leader that He put to pastor over your church.

Mr. Stewart discussed that he and his wife was over hundreds of thousands of dollar in debt until they began to follow the Divine Order of Giving Principal. Once they enforced this the hand of God moved on their behalf and now they are completely DEBT FREE.

The challenge:
Step out on faith and honor God with the Terumah to your local leader of the church. Some pastors may not understand but do it anyway. (Just prayerfully ask the Holy Ghost to give you wisdom, knowledge and understanding in this teaching).

Once your situation has been turned around by God the next step is to give your testimony of what God has done in your life. Revelations 12:11 KJV "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony."

Divine Order of Giving Breakdown:
Terumah (first fruits) $.025 of gross pay
First Tithes $0.10 of your gross pay
Second Tithes $0.10 of your gross pay (this is for you...PAY YOURSELF)
(See Deuteronomy 14:22, 25-26 for first and second tithes)

If you would like to know more about the Terumah and first and second tithes please come to Cornerstone Assembly of God in Anderson, South Carolina where the Senior Pastor is Ed Nelson. Pastor Nelson is very educated in Hebrew and he does a teaching on Hebraic Roots once a month. His website is

If you want to know more about James and Tracy Stewart testimony of getting out of the hundreds of thousand of dollars of debt in more detail contact Cornerstone Assembly of God at 864-224-3861 so they can get you in contact with the Stewart's.

My Testimony:
When I got home today I had a client that wanted me to do his taxes which is a blessing for me because my business has been a very slow and a blessing for my pocket book :)

This is God's way of doing things not the world's way.

Please comment with your testimonies.
