When you make a purchase(s) for rebate item(s) make sure those purchases are separate because you have to send the original sales receipt.

I had purchased two items that were both Rebate on the same sales receipt and I forgot at the time when I purchased them. I step out on faith and send one Rebate to a company with the original sales receipt and the other Rebate to the second company with a photo copy since the original went to the first company. Today I got a letter back from one of the companies stating they need the original sales receipt no photo copy.

When you do send your Rebate make copies of everything. I make a copy of the form once I fill it out, then a copy of the sales receipt, then a copy of the bar code before I send all originals to the company. I staple them all together and put in a file titled "Sent Rebate" and I put the date I mailed it. When I get my Rebate check back I pull that Rebate information out of the "Sent Rebate" file and write on it the date I received the check and file it in the "Received Rebate" file that I hold for a little while before trashing.

KFC FREE Chicken Update
By now, many of you have probably heard that the KFC coupons for the FREE 2 piece grilled chicken meal have caused some chaos around KFC's nationwide! As a result of the long lines and frustrated customers, KFC has posted this announcement on their website saying that you will be issued a raincheck coupon for a future date (they will vary the dates so not everyone gets the FREEBIE on the same date). Your raincheck coupon will include the FREE 2 piece grilled chicken meal as well as a FREE Pepsi beverage. You'll still need to take your coupon into the KFC by May 19, 2009 (the expiration date of the coupon) in order to fill out the form for the raincheck coupon. Reportedly, some KFC's are still accepting the coupons so you may want to call your local restaurant first.

If you can purchase your newspapers from Dollar Tree it will only be $1. If you got two newspapers it would be for $2. Where as if you would have paid $1.50 each which would be $3 for two papers. Then you could have actually gotten three newspapers for that price from Dollar Tree.

Where to get coupons?

First location to look is in your Sunday newspaper

There are usually up to three coupon inserts in there, Red Plum (RP), Proctor and Gamble (PG), and Smart Source (SS).

Also within the newspaper are coupons as well as the newspaper magazine i.e. Parade.

Second location to look is on the Internet

Here are a listing of sites I look at a)
b) c)

You can also print website coupons twice. Once you print the first time just use the back arrow until you get back to the printing stage and it will print again.

Third location to look are in the Store Aisles

There are "BLINKIES" sticking out on shelves that blink, you pull out a coupon and it dispenses another one.

There are also coupons on product items.

Final location to look but not limited to are Magazines

Check out Health magazine, Men's magazine, Fashion magazines, Store magazines and etc.

There are other locations to get coupons just be on the look out.

There are many different types of coupons.

There are also paperless coupons. If you have a shopper's card in some stores you can download to your card i.e. Krogers.
(check out allow you to download coupons in your shopper's card i.e. Ingles, Bi-lo as well as using your credit card at certain restaurants. The discount will not be taken at the register it will be taken at the end of the month and that savings will go to a College Savings 529 to a recipient of your choice.

There are codes you can use online to get a discount when you check out.

In your couponing adventures please remember to stockpile.

Begin to stock up for yourself for future usage.

Then considering giving some of it, blessing someone in need; it could be someone on your job, a neighbor, someone at your church, and etc.

There are also charities you can donate to and as stated in an earlier blog you can get a tax write off for the full amount even though you may have paid pennies because of using coupons.

Finally, consider selling the items on eBay. This way you can get back double, triple and etc. what you purchased for it. If you sell on eBay it is best to sell in bundles instead of individually i.e. deodorant, toothpaste, razor and etc. Check out other sellers on eBay to see how you can sell.

Happy couponing and stockpiling.........
